Traffic on U.S. 41/441 at the intersection with County 252 by Columbia High School will be temporarily halted while crews run new traffic signal cables across both roadways, according to the Florida Department of Transportation. Traffic will be stopped for up to 10-minute periods on both U.S. 41/441 and on County Road 252 tentatively scheduled for Tuesday between 1:30 and 3 p.m. Law enforcement will direct traffic at the intersection while the traffic signals are turned off to run the new wires. The FDOT is currently upgrading the traffic signal system at the intersection which will include new pedestrian signals and crosswalks painted across U.S. 41/441 on the north side of the intersection and across County Road 252 where it ends at U.S. 41/441.
