State Road 26 at US 301 Overpass Construction
An overpass is being constructed on State Road 26 over U.S. 301 and the adjacent CSX railroad.

Main Street (State Road 329)
In June 2000, the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) amended their Long Range Plan to include the Main Street reconstruction project, reducing Main Street from four lanes to two lanes with a center turn lane between Depot Avenue and NW 8th Avenue. Construction of this project began September 8th and is expected to take about two years to complete.

University Avenue (State Road 26) Resurfacing from Gale Lemerand Drive to Waldo Road
Improvements to University Avenue (State Road 26) in Gainesville from Gale Lemerand Drive to just east of Waldo Road are underway. The project extends east to just past Waldo Road to include a section of roadway near the SR 20/26 split that was not included in earlier projects.

West Sixth Street Sidewalk Construction
Constructing an 8-foot wide sidewalk on the east side of the road along the old railroad corridor from Southwest Fourth Street to Southwest Second Avenue.

U.S. 27 (S.R. 500) in Williston Railroad Crossing Repairs
The railroad crossing on State Road (S.R.) 500/U.S. 27 just west of Southeast Eighth Street in Williston is scheduled to be replaced and will close the road for two days next week, according to Florida Department of Transportation.

Baker

U.S. 90 Road Improvements
Work is expected to begin this week on a $5.5 million project to resurface and improve U.S. 90 in Baker County, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

State Road 228 / South Fifth Street Railroad Crossing Repairs
State Road (S.R.) 228/South Fifth Street at the railroad crossing just south of Macclenny Avenue (U.S. 90) in Macclenny is scheduled to be closed to all traffic from August 2-13 for replacement of the railroad crossing, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

State Road 100 Resurfacing
Improvements to State Road 100 in Bradford County between the Clay County line and County Road 100A, just east of Starke, began in early December, according to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

U.S. 17/Doctors Inlet Bridge Widening between Milwaukee Avenue and Creighton Road
Two additional lanes are being added to U.S. 17 (Park Avenue) from Creighton Road to Milwaukee Avenue (1.5 miles).

Kingsley Avenue (State Road 224) Traffic Signals
Replace traffic signals at Debarry Avenue and Doctors Lake Drive.

Blanding Boulevard (State Road 21) Widening
Adding lanes from Old Jennings Road to Knight Boxx Road (1.2 miles).

Knight Boxx Road (County Road 220B) Resurfacing
Duval Asphalt will be on-site Monday (April 19) to start milling and resurfacing Knight Boxx Road (CR 220B) between Blanding Boulevard and County Road 220. There will be lane closures from Monday through Friday during daytime hours only, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. No night work allowed on this project because of proximity to residences. There will be one lane open in each direction at all times during the day.

State Road 16 Resurfacing from Shands Bridge to U.S. 17
State Road (S.R.) 16, from U.S. 17 to the Shands Bridge in Clay County will be resurfaced between July and December 2010.

Columbia

Interstate 10 from Suwannee County line to U.S. 441
Interstate 10 from the Suwannee County line to U.S. 441 (9.5 miles) is scheduled to be resurfaced in 2011 at an estimated $22 million.

State Road 238 Improvements
Work began in late January on a project to improve 15 miles of State Road 238 between U.S. 441 in Columbia County and State Road 231 in Union County, according to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The improvements include resurfacing the travel lanes and replacing the bridge railing on the Olustee Creek Bridge at the Columbia/Union County line.

Interstate 75 Resurfacing from I-10 to the Suwannee County line
Resurfacing from I-10 to the Suwannee County line (3 miles) and replacing the high mast lighting at the I-10 interchange and installing conventional light poles.

U.S. 41/441 South of County Road 252
Traffic on U.S. 41/441 at the intersection with County 252 by Columbia High School will be temporarily halted while crews run new traffic signal cables across both roadways, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Dixie

State Road 51 Resurfacing and Bridge Replacement
Four bridges on State Road 51 in Dixie County will be replaced as part of an improvement project between the Taylor and Lafayette County lines by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Duval

Interstate 10/Interstate 95 Interchange Reconstruction
The I-10/I-95 Interchange from Stockton Street and the Fuller Warren Bridge to Adams Street is currently under construction. The project will not only increase the capacity of the Interchange but will also eliminate many of the current cross-lane weaving movements that drivers must negotiate as they use the current interchange. Interstate 10 from east of Halsema Road to Lane Avenue
A Florida Department of Transportation project to widen and improve 8.2 miles of I-10 from Lane Avenue to east of Halsema Road began in January 2009. The $58 million construction project involves widening I-10 from four to six lanes from I-295 to east of Halsema Road. Construction is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2012.

The project includes removing the top layer of pavement and replacing it with new asphalt, adding five-foot paved shoulders on both sides of the road and replacing drainage pipes beneath some driveways.

Levy

County Road 40 Resurfacing from Ball Park Road to Peaceful Acres Road

U.S. 19 Resurfacing from State Road 24 in Otter Creek to Southeast Fourth Street in Chiefland
A Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project along 11 miles of U.S. 19 in southern Levy County began Monday, Jan. 4. The project includes resurfacing the roadway, adding paved shoulders and extending drainage structures.

Manatee Springs Bike Trail
Levy County residents who may want to get in shape this New Year will be able to benefit from a new bike lane to be built along State Road 320, according to Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Mosley Avenue Improvements
The project, located between Edgemoor Street and U.S. 17, will resurface the road providing smoother pavement. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is overseeing this project which will also include curb and sidewalk improvements to meet current safety standards.

State Road 100 Rail Trail from Clay County line to C.R. 315
A new recreational opportunity will be available soon as work begins on the next section of the Palatka Lake Butler State Trail in Putnam County. The new 12-foot wide asphalt multi-use trail will extend nearly four miles along the former Norfolk-Southern Railroad corridor and mostly parallel State Road 100 on the north side of the road, between the Clay County line and County Road 315 in Grandin, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

St. Johns

State Road A1A Summer Haven Bridges Replacement
Replace two low level bridges over the Matanzas River in Summer Haven. Misener Marine Construction, Inc., began September 2009 at a cost of $11,756,527.75.

State Road A1A Resurfacing in Ponte Vedra Beach
A resurfacing project on State Road A1A, from the Duval County line to Fairfield Boulevard/Sawgrass Drive in Ponte Vedra Beach began on August 31.

County Road 13 Bridge Replacement over Sixteen Mile Creek
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began a $3.4 million project to replace Sixteen Mile Creek Bridge on County Road 13 in St. Johns County Monday, January 4. The bridge will be replaced with a new 40-foot wide concrete bridge with two 12-foot lanes and two 8-foot emergency lanes. Currently, the existing bridge, which was built in 1956, has a weight limit. Once the new bridge is constructed, the weight limit will be removed.

Crescent Beach Bridge Painting on State Road 206
A project to paint the Crescent Beach bridge on State Road 206 began in February and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010. Lane closures as well as detours using the State Road 312 bridge will be necessary at times during the project. Signs will be posted on State Road 206 for two weeks leading up to any total bridge closure and detour. The bridge can only be closed a total of 15 days during the 300 day project.

Upgrading traffic signals at County Road 210 intersections with Cimarrone Boulevard/South Hampton Club Way, Cartwheel Bay, County Road 2209, Leo Maguire Parkway, Leo Magure Road and the ramp with I-95.

West King Street (County Road 214) Resurfacing from County Road 13 to Palmer Avenue
Resurfacing from County Road 13 to Palmer Avenue (14.7 miles) and paving shoulders from County Road 13 to County Road 13A (4 miles).

Pablo Road Bridge Replacement
Pablo Road is scheduled to be completely closed for approximately eight months beginning Tuesday, June 1 while the Florida Department of Transportation replaces the bridge over the Ponte Vedra canal.

King Street Drainage
A Florida Department of Transportation project to improve drainage on King Street (S.R. 5A) will begin in September. Work includes replacing underground pipes and constructing a new backflow prevention system at the San Sebastian River.

Approximately nine miles of Interstate 10 from U.S. 90 to U.S. 129 in Suwannee County is scheduled to be resurfaced in 2011 at an estimated cost of $16 million.

County Road 252 Resurface and Widening
Improvements to County Road 252 (Pinemount Road) in Suwannee County began Monday, January 4. This roadway project will require daytime lane closures and other impacts to residents and motorists who use this county roadway. The project, located between the Columbia County line and County Road 137, will resurface and widen the roadway three feet on each side to provide 12-foot travel lanes.
