Public Workshop Thursday on Six-Laning State Road A1A in Yulee

7/6/2011 - Proposed improvements to State Road A1A through Yulee in Nassau County will be discussed at a public information workshop hosted by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) this Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Florida State College, Nassau Center, in Yulee. The address is 76348 William Burgess Blvd.

The FDOT proposes adding two lanes and raised medians to the four-lane roadway to provide a six-lane urban roadway from west of Still Quarters Road to west of Rubin Davis Lane, a distance of 1.5 miles.

Plans are for construction to begin in the Fall of 2014. The cost is estimated at $17.9 million including design and right of way acquisition which includes two retention ponds, easements and widening within Yulee.

Comments can be made beginning at 6:30 p.m., otherwise the workshop is informal with FDOT and consultant staff available with maps and plans to answer questions between the hours of 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
